For the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D people it is set after Captain America: The winter Solder, so S.H.I.E.L.D is currently rebuilding itself to be bigger and not full of Hydra operatives, So be careful who you trust you never know who might be working for the other side. S.H.I.E.L.D knew about mutants before the government did. They saw their mutations as an asset to their organisation so they hired them without singling them out, they dislike the new registration rules.



For the X-Men it is set at the start of the first movie, with changes to it, Magnito is plotting and planning for his machine that will change all human's into mutants, while the government has secret facilities where mutant children who manifested early have been kept to be experimented on, some of the scientists want to make a cure for the Mutant gene while others want to combine the traits of many mutants in one mutant so they have a perfect soldier to kill other mutants. The X-Men more specifically Logan and Rogue have figured out about the labs after they were almost captured by people who work for the labs in rounding up mutants, they broke into one of the labs and freed the kids that were trapped there.



Fantastic 4 is set after their movie.



In this world, all the superhero's and mutant's know about each other but they have only just found out after the large alien invasion that occurred in the Avengers movie but they now often help each other to defeat enemies.
