Atticus stood on the edge of camp, looking out of it.  He was thinking of his brother and everything that had happened that night.  He often did this, wondering where he had gone wrong in saving his brothers life and how he could have done it differently and have not lost him at all.  In some ways he felt his brother had been right and that it had been his fault that there mother had died.  He wondered if his brother would have been able to save her.  If he would have maybe even been able to take control of the fire if he had have been able to calm down but Atticus knew he couldn't have been sure and he knew there mother wouldn't have wanted any of them to die for her.  He also just hoped his brother hadn't died for his neglect.  He should have put a lot more effort into finding his brother but he had been worried about what then would have happened if his brother hadn't wanted to be found.  But most of all he just hoped his brother was still alive because this would mean that he would have a chance to fix past mistakes between them.

Atticus turned back to look at  the camp and sat down at the base of a tree.  He was glad he had finally found a place he could call home and where his sister would be safe.  She had been his main concern since their mother had died.

Zeus appeared behind him, he had been waiting for him to arrive at camp. He had kept an eye on him sending people to watch him and make sure that he didn't die, because that would surly kill him. While hunting for possible future wars he had stumbled onto a vision of the boy, no man in front of him. The vision he saw left him breathless and hopeful, he had long given up on experiencing that kind of connection with another person, that amount of love from anyone. It had been so long since he had felt the touch of another, with the war and Hera killing anyone he got close to it was just easier to not try, especially since he didn't want any of the people he liked to die at Hera's hands.

"Hello." He said, wondering if he should mention that he was a god, deciding that he would figure it out as soon as he mentioned his name anyway he decided to get it over with. "I'm Zeus, I just wanted to welcome you to camp. I, We have been keeping track of you the traps that you have made are ingenious." He tells him with a smile.

Atticus looked up at the voice and then jumped to his feet. He wonder if he should bow to the god, he was a king after all, but he decided this might be a bit far and hoped that the god wouldn't smite him if this was in fact protocol. Damn this place and not having a rule book when it comes to the gods. "umm....ahh...Hey Lord Zeus."  He wants to welcome me to camp.  Okay seriously if this is protocol then a handbook of acceptable greetings in definitely needed, he thought, unaware that he had broadcasted the thoughts for the god to hear.  Hopefully a little elderly respect will be enough.  "Umm thank-.....actually how do you even know about that?"

"You can loose the Lord, unless it's in a formal setting just Zeus is fine." Zeus tells him with a grin, his smile widened at the thoughts before it got to hopefully a little elderly respect will be enough. then the smile dropped from his face and he scowled crossing his arms across his chest and looking at him disapprovingly.

"I'm notthat old." He says with a frown, unaware that Atticus most probably didn't know that if they projected their thoughts gods could pick up on them. "Most gods are not formal, and are fairly laid back with their approach to demigods, some of them like to stick to the old rules but they are few and far between and not to mention mostly stay away from demigods."

Zeus paled a little thinking up a lie on the spot. "Hermes has been talking about it, he's very proud that you had figured out how to use your power for tricks to be powers to defeat monsters." He tells him with a smooth and unhurried voice knowing that Atticus wouldn't know the difference between his tones, but he would learn them all, with that thought a smile crossed his face again before it was gone, he was still fuming over his elders remark.

"The almighty Zeus it is then?", he half questioned with a small smirk. The smirk was then whipped from his face as he realized that Zeus must have heard his thoughts. He decided that maybe making a slight joke out of it would be best. "Ohh of course. What....a couple of thousand years must put you just in the prime of your life", he continued, really hoping he wasn't going to be struck by lightning on the spot, he thought that might ruin his looks.

He found himself looking at the god and tried to stop the thought of how hot he felt the god was and when that failed, he added a for his age away to the end of it, a playful glint showing in his eyes.

"I should warn you that I have a 15 year old sister. If you are going to lie then you will have to do better then that, my lord", he continued, a large smirk on his face.

"I'm always in the prime of my life." He tells him with a smirk back at him, he liked how Atticus joked with him, it had been so long since anyone felt comfortable joking with him it had not happened since before the last war. A large smile crossed his face when he caught the thoughts about how hot Atticus found him a frown crossed his face at the age comment but he gathered that he was joking if the playful glint in his eye was anything to go by.

A light blush crossed his cheeks, it was not often that he was caught lying and even less often when someone brought up the fact that he lied. He liked that Atticus wasn't afraid to call him on his lying, he could easily see himself falling in love with him, not that he wasn't half in love with him already after the reports on how caring and loving he was with his sister. He envied that but knew that she deserved to be loved like that because she was his little sister, but a large selfish part of him wanted all of Atticus' love for himself, but he knew that would never happen he could only hope that he would come first in his list of love.

The fact that Zeus was joking back with him spurred Atticus on further. "The perks of immortally. I suppose you need some with all the losses", he continued with a smirk. "Especially with your wife. From what I hear she is a real charmer", he replied. Somehow even with all he had heard about Hera he would still be willing to give it a shot with the rather hot god.

He noticed the slight blush on the gods cheeks. "Wait is that a blush I see. Is the almighty, immortal Lord Zeus, blushing at something a mere demigod son of Hermes said", he teased softly, hoping he wasn't going to far. "I can't be all that frightening can I?"

The mention of Hera and the losses, he froze a sad look crossed his face as he started thinking of all he had lost because of her and all he stood to loose because of her. The man in front of him was a prime example he could be the best thing that ever happened to him or just another in a long line of lost loves because of Hera, he knew that if he lost Atticus he would survive it but would be dead inside, a shallow hull of what he used to be.

"No, it's not a blush." He tells him in a dead pan tone, thankful that it had finally faded. "You are that frightening." He says softly moving forward and cupping his cheek, his thumb stroking the line of his cheekbone. "You hold the future to my happiness in your hands and can so easily crush it, so yes, you are that frightening."

Atticus had been about to let out another witty response when Zeus stepped closer. He felt a blush burn his own cheeks at the touch and then had to wonder if he had heard right. He couldn't believe that he would hold so much power over a god, especially this god. He had never wanted power and suddenly he could be holding lots of it and he didn't want to admit that that it sort of scared him. He met the gods eyes, "If that is the case then maybe you hold the key to mine", he replied. He still didn't know if he would ever see his brother and his sister would soon not need him either. Something felt right with being close to Zeus and he couldn't understand why.

"I must say, for someone who has lived a few dozen centuries, you do look rather.....well not Zombiefied", he replied.

Zeus took a step backwards with a rueful smile, trust him to break the serious mood, but he quite liked that he did. Atticus might convince him to see the fun side of life again, which he had lost with all the wars and seriousness surrounding him. It was also nice to know that he had the same power over Atticus that Atticus had over him. Because Atticus did hold all the power over him, anything that he asked of him Zeus would try his hardest to provide him with.

"Yes, looking mummified would rather put a damper on all the things that we get up too." He tells him with smiling eyes, his face blank. "And anyway like Aphrodite would let us look like that, can you imagine the fit she would throw if we had to look like mummies or old people? She would not stop complaining till we changed it just to make her be quiet."

Atticus forced himself to hide the disappointment he felt when Zeus backed away from him. He kept the smile on his face. "I know it's early to say, but I think I am liking this we idea you have", he replied, the smile widening slightly, even if the blush made a slight reappearance. Over the last 9 years he had had no time to himself and as such he had had no relationships, having devoted his life to keeping his sister from being harmed. The last boyfriend he had had was when he had been 16 and even then it had been barely a stolen kiss after school that had happened before he headed home the day his mother died. "I can imagine she would have had trouble with the whole love goddess thing while looking like that."

After what Atticus said Zeus was so tempted to more closer again and kiss him but he knew that that would be moving to fast and he didn't want to do that. "I'm glad that you feel that way." He tells him, a smile on his face. "Beauty and love would be both very hard for her looking like a mummy." He says with a chuckle, imagining what she would look like as a mummy.

"Would you go out on a date with me?" He asked, feeling decidedly nervous about asking him out on a date even though he would most probably say yes, butterflies still danced through his stomach at the thought that he might not accept. He started to plan out where they would go and what they would see if he accepted the date which Zeus was hoping he would.

Atticus grinned widely, "That it would. You wouldn't be half as handsome either."

Atticus couldn't truly understand why, but he suddenly felt self conscious when the god asked him on a date. He supposed, until now he had still half thought it was all a joke. Now he found himself wondering how he could possibly be good enough for a god. Especially the king of the gods. He looked down quickly at the slightly tattered clothes he was wearing. Him and his sister had got by as well as he could manage. He even took a couple of cash in hand Jobs where he could. None of them where glamorous, but they had paid well enough at the time. He knew he didn't have anything that would really be suitable for a date with such a prominent figure in his new life though.

"I would love to", he replied, surprising himself, because he had been sure he had told himself to say no.

Zeus let out a sigh of relief as he said yes to going out on a date with him. He smiled brightly before saying, "I'm so glad you said yes I don't know what I would have done if you said no, probably kidnapped you and held you hostage till you said yes." The last part was only partly joking. "I'll pick you up later?" He asks hoping that he wasn't being pushy. "Or we can do it later this week, it's up too you."

While he speaks visions of possibilities flash across his mind, he uses these visions to decide on where to take him and what to do for their first date, it wouldn't be anything flash, he'd cook him something in his home kitchen so it would be just the two of them, nice and cozy.

"I am suddenly not sure if I should be scared or not, Lord Zeus", he replied with a small smirk. He was mostly sure he wouldn't have minded being kidnapped by this certain god, but surely he couldn't admit that to him. He wouldn't want to inflate his ego to much after all. He supposed he could duck out with his sister anyway and get something decent, he didn't really want to admit to Zeus how little he had. He didn't want him to think he needed to feel sorry for him.

Atticus sighed inwardly, hoping that Zeus wouldn't notice it. "Assuming I have free range to leave for a few hours. Tonight should be fine", he replied. The smile on his face was real, despite all the nerves and worries he was feeling inside.
