Thys walked towards camp two of his children in a pram the other strapped to his chest. He couldn’t help but see places that reminded him of his late wife. He pushed away the pain he had promised his kids to take them to the lake not that they knew this but he had made them a promise and he wasn't going to break it he finally arrived at the lake, he set up their play pen and placed them in it letting them feel the grass. He smiled as they babbled and giggled at him, he looked around and finally felt at peace it was lovely here and the children seemed to enjoy it too. He watched as they kicked their little legs in the grass. He pulled out his camera before taking a picture of them, he wanted to have many pictures of them so that he never forgot what they were like this little.

Jace Jorden

Jace had spent most of the morning in the Arena, working out with a few of his siblings and a few Ares kids. He had been getting more and more frustrated with himself since the attack and was taking any chance he could around helping to look after the triplets, to train. He had repeatedly beat the three newer campers he had taken on that morning. The others had given up after the fourth time he sent them all to the ground and had headed back to the cabin as well. The first thing he noticed was that Thys and the kids were gone and was only as he showered that he remembered he had been going to take them to the lake that day. It was something that he had been meant to join them with. He hoped Thys hadn't been gone long.

Jace dressed quickly and chucked on a pair of shoes before quickly making his way to the lake at a light jog. Things were slowly progressing between the two since the kiss they had shared and he normally tried to not forget their plans but his dreams hadn't been forgiving. He was wearing the chain on which he had placed his and Sakara's wedding ring and had been since that morning. He quickly hid it buck under his shirt as the lake came into view and stopped for a moment to watch as Thys took a photo of the kids before walking up behind them. "It's always scary how quickly they can grow." Of course his experiences weren't exactly normal and he was glad he was getting to watch his sister's kids grow.

"It is." Thys said leaning his head back and smiling up at him. "It seems like yesterday they were newborns. Now look at them they are getting so big." He was unable to help himself and he reached down and scooped them all up placing them in his lap and looking at them. They were perfect and he never wanted that to change. He stroked their cheeks in wonder at how soft they were. "How was training this morning?" He asked, his eyes never leaving his babies. He had been able to feel the distance growing between them but he was unable to stop it and didn’t know what to do so he tried to forget about the distance between them.

He felt horrible for falling in love with someone else so soon after his wife's death but knew that she would be happy for him. She adored her brother and would want Thys to be happy now that she was gone but it seemed that Jace didn’t feel the same way so Thys kept his thoughts and feelings to himself. He was unable to help the sigh that escaped his lips, Jace seemed to spend his free time training. Thys cursed himself internally for getting worked up but it seemed to be the only time that he saw Jace was in the morning for help feeding the triplets and in the evening for the same thing. They shared the same bed but it felt like there was a million miles of space between them.

Jace let out a sigh. He knew his actions where hurting Thys but he had already lost two people that he loved to fighting for the gods and he didn't want to add Thys to that list. Part of him already loved him but it was a part he was trying to keep locked away for the good of both of them. He was starting to think that everyone iphe loved in that way would eventually die. Sure he had had a lot longer with Sakarra then he had ever got to have with Leah but he didn't think it was far on the kids for them to lose their father because he could not hold himself back. Part of him knew that he should leave but every time he actually considered it he remembered that first night and knew that it would be worse for them all of he did because he could not garauntee that Thys would hold himself together through it. He knew after the kids that he needed to talk to him and explain that nothing would ever happen between them but his heart just wouldn't let him do it.

Jace moved to sit beside Thys and picked up Jorden, who was the closest to place him in his own lap. "Training is fine", he replied with a shrug. "Though I still need to find a better match", he admitted. He bounced Jordan in his lap, loving the smile it drew from the small child. "Sorry I was late getting back. I lost track of time", he continued.

"It's fine." Thys tells him wishing that he had the guts to admit how he was actually feeling but he didn't think it would help things and he didn't want to pressure Jace, and loose him all together. "I forgot how pretty it was here." He says trying to breach the gap that had formed between them, before mentally telling himself off, like Jace cared how he had forgotten how pretty he had found the place before his wife had died.

Thys then busied himself grabbing out bottles of formula knowing that the triplets would be hungry soon and he didn't want them to start fussing, too much. He also pulled out a few packets of lollies and chips he had packed for a snack leaving them near enough for Jace to grab some as he started to feed Kane who had started fussing a moment before.

Jace sighed inwardly, knowing that he had hurt Thys and hating himself for it. He hated that he had already seemed to start to love the other man as he was sure he must be cursed. The women he loved had both died and he couldn't bare the thought of watching Thys die. He shrugged slightly at Thys's comment about the place being beautiful. He had never really taken the time to really think about how beautiful anything at the camp really was beautiful. He had never really taken the time to look at any of it. "I suppose it is", he replied.

He shifted to pick up Jorden and one of the bottles of formula to feed to him. It was still amazing to him to be holding such small kids and the love he held for them was more then he realised, even after having Kenzie.

Thys didn't know how to reply to that so he stayed silent finishing feeding Kane before burping him and placing him down before picking up Cassie and feeding her. He let out a sigh, before deciding he couldn't keep it all bottled up or it would kill him. "I, If, I mean, if you want to go back to being just friends, I'd understand, I mean I don't think I'd like it, but I'd understand that it's too fast, but I just, I can't, can't live with you leaving the kids, you've been away so often I only see you in the morning then again at night and I just, I want you to be around for the kids more." He tells him, starting off stumbling but he made it through and hoped that Jace would understand. He didn't know how he would cope if Jace said that he wanted to just be friends but he would if it meant that Jace would still be there for the kids, maybe even more than he was now.

Jace was glad he had placed Jorden down with his brother before Thys had said anything. He was on his feet before Thys had even finished. Moving was how he had always dealt with stress and over whelming thoughts and it was second nature for him to just began moving. "That's not what this is about Thys", he half snapped before forcing himself to calm. He knelt in front of Thys and took Cassandra from his arms, placing her with her brothers before looking back at Thys again. "This isn't about it being to quick and it isn't about me not......loving you." Before now he hadn't even allowed himself to realize that truth and it took a lot for him to admit it to Thys. "Thys...I am trying to protect you. Everyone I love seems to die and I can't do that to you and the kids."

"I don't care." He admits, softly looking down at his hands feeling terrible for saying it but it was true. "I, it's just, not being with you when I love you would kill me slowly and I don't care about the supposed danger." He says, feeling quite guilty knowing that if it was true Jace would be left looking after the triplets, if gods forbid something did happen to him. "I would take any risk to be with you because being without you is a death sentence but being with you is 50/50 and I'll take 50/50 over 100% any day." He admits slowly hoping that his admission didn't make Jace mad.

Jace sighed and looked away from Thys and at the ground between them. He could blame Thys for feeling the way he did. he had felt the same for Sakara after he had lost Leah but he could risk letting it happen again. He couldn't risk letting his break again if he could help it not when he knew he was already to much like his father at times in his anger. "I do", he replied. "I can't do that to you an the kids and please don't ask me to." It was hard enough to deny his feelings for Thys as it was and he hated doing it.

"Fine." Thys said tersely, standing up and packing everything away moving to get the kids packed up. He couldn't sit here and pretend that what Jace had said didn't kill him so he made no attempt to try he wanted time to himself to lick his wounds in private hoping that he could patch the up so that the next time he saw Jace it wouldn't be too hard to handle. "I'll see you later." He said, walking away quickly with the triplets trying to keep the tears from escaping he wasn't doing a good job a few slowly made their way down his cheeks.
