Zamir lent against the porch railing clutching a big cup of coffee looking out over their little home, it had been a tough road in the months since Patrick and Mattew had both passed just after they had given birth to their babies he was just grateful that they each got to name their babies and hold them before they passed. He couldn't help but feel responsible though what's the use of being a god if it doesn't help when it mattered most? 


He had been awake since 3 AM after being woken to care for all 5 babies as he and Zareb took turns so that at least one of them got some sleep overnight. He let out a weary sigh, he was never supposed to do this without Ella. She had been his whole world and his whole reason for having kids but he knew that he had to do his best or Patrick would come back and kick his ass but it was hard. 

Zamir froze as he saw some monsters slinking out of the forest. "Zareb!" He called out sharply both out loud and in his mind directing it to Zareb. He grabbed a sword from beside the door before moving towards the monsters. "A little help." He called again as more came out of the woods. 

Zareb woke with a start at his brothers mental and physical yell. He ran out of the room he had been sleeping in without worrying about chucking on a shirt, just taking the time to pick up the sword that lay on a table near where he had been sleeping. Though he had been asleep, Zareb had gotten used to keeping a ear out on the kids by now. Just in case Zamir ended up needing help with the four of them. He missed Marie but he couldn't let himself break down when his family and his brothers family needed him.

He crept outside and didn't need to ask why Zamir had called. He saw the monsters immediately. "What can't take them on yourself brother", he teased, knowing it was ridiculous with the amount of them. Zareb was at least glad that had chosen to stay somewhere near to a river. Zareb had chosen to not take on the godly powers that his brother had and as such, was still only a son of Amphitrite. His control over water was the only extra thing he had.

He moved forward after his brother but called to the river as he went, using it to knock out a few hellhounds that had strayed to close to the house.

"Just thought you'd like to help." Zamir quipped back at him with a cheeky grin, that didn't reach his eyes because of the real danger of situation they were in. If they were to fall it would mean their kids were dead and Zamir would die before he let them get their children. "Don't let them get to the cabin." He says, using his powers trying to lull them into a sleep or hypnosis hoping that if he could do that he could buy time for Zareb to get the kids away. He mentally told Zareb to get ready to grab the kids and get away.

"Already on it, Songbird", Zareb replied instantly. He kept using his powers over water to manipulate the water from the river into keeping the monsters back from their home and their daughters. He couldn't live with himself if something happened to any of them.

Zareb couldn't believe that Zamir wanted him to try and get their children away from here. He knew there was no way he would be able to out run this many monsters. No, he thought back. It has to be you. I couldn't out run this but you have a chance of getting them out with you being a god. Zareb didn't give his brother a chance to argue but moved straight away, getting the attention of as many of the monsters that he could and using the river to put up a wall to keep them from the house. It was the best idea he had to try and give his brother some time but he wasn't able to hold it for as long as he hoped. The monsters quickly over powered him. The pain was over powering before he dropped his sword though and finally let himself black out

Zamir had to bite back a curse but knew he couldn't slow down and let Zareb's sacrifice be in vain. I love you brother. Zamir sends him not wanting him to die without telling him once more. He grabbed the four children and headed to the forest but it was nearly impossible for him to run cradling four children who were all screaming. He gave it his best but he was eventually surrounded, he hid the children and turned to face the monsters he gave his best but before long he was overrun and fell to the floor was facing towards where he had hidden the kids, he could feel a flicker of hope that they would live as he saw feet headed that way before he blacked out.
