Zane ran away from home because everyone but especially Zivon were hurry when he couldn’t remember him. Unfortunately for Zane his brother had talked to Ares about bringing Zane into the fold because he couldn’t remember ‘Pluto’s’ brainwashing and if they got rid of the rest of his memories he would be a loyal soldier and so would Zivon. Unfortunately for Zivon Ares agreed mostly to just stick it to Eleanor and Pluto who he hated for stealing and raising his kids even though he didn’t want to raise them in the first place. He discusses his plan with Hera who agrees, and they capture Zane and remove his remaining memories leaving him with no memories at all. He believes Zivon because he has no reason not to. He believes him about Ares being their only parent and that their mother had abandoned them but in the back of his mind something niggles at him, but he ignores it.
 
Without Zivon knowledge Ares starts abusing Zane, physically, mentally and sexually. Ares was still mad at Zane for not coming to him when Zivon had. Because Zivon seemed really happy and seemed to really love Ares Zane kept the abuse a secret. Zane pretended everything was fine, but he became more and more withdrawn taking to hiding from everyone but especially Ares which made the abuse worse when Ares did find him.
 
Zane decided to escape because he had been throwing up and constantly nauseous and someone had told him he might be pregnant. Unfortunately, he was caught before he could get away and was beaten half to death by Ares. Zivon was powerless to do anything to stop Ares. Zivon changed sides when he saw his father half kill Zane and Hera was there egging Ares on. Ares invited Zivon to join in beating Zane but Zivon tried to hit Ares instead. Ares attacked Zivon knocking him out before ordering both of them be locked in a cell.
